Hone creek, Costa Rica

We had some more rainy days here at the beginning of this month, ¨sunny Caribbean my ass¨, I thought. When it rains, we can´t work in the rivers, because they turn murky. So for some days, I didn´t have much on my hands since my computer hadn´t arrived yet. They assured me one and said it would arrive the next day. And of course, as I though, nothing the next day. ¨Tomorrow¨, they said, yeah right, again nothing of course…

I was considering to buy my own since I guessed it would be an old crappy one anyway, ...if it would arrive.

But then, the next day, when I just got back from my birthday morning surf on the first sunny day since more than a week, somebody was carrying big boxes into the office.

Brand new, with a huge screen to look at the 10yrs of data and with speakers! (I need my music). Not bad, since hey, it´s Costa Rica…

Another new toy, I know it´s ugly… ...not much choice here.

De muur van Talamanca, geluk ligt aan de top.

Waar ik wel allemaal niet naar toekan met die fiets...

We use the 4ltr 6 cylinder Landcruiser to reach our research sites, the engine is way too big for that car, it would ride up the hills stationary.

Teaching the kids.

Never too young to help save the fish.

Caught a snake

Funny looking Flounder (just one of the -on average- 500 fish we catch on a day).

Other fishermen were here before us.

A pet Paca in one of the locals´ house.

All you can eat Sushi (8eutjes), fellow Dutchy (Wiebe) can eat 60 pieces (no Tuna).

Self made Kahuna (Board game), with Kelly, she draws the fish we catch.

Crack junky in Puerto Viejo.

Why do people always post pictures from their cats?
